In 1946 Gus Saettele Sr. became a bench jeweler and soon after, founded Saettele Jewelers. Thirty years later, his sons, Gus Jr. and Gary joined Saettele and remained in downtown St. Louis for several years. In 1989 the brothers moved the store to Clayton. First on Maryland Ave., then 10 years later to their current location at 920 S. Brentwood.
