In 1984 Michael and Mary Lorenz started Michael & Son's Native American Art and Fine Jewelry. The business is now owned and operated by their youngest of three children, David Lorenz, and his wife Shannon. They are known as the best jewelry store with jewelry repairing and engraving facilities.

They are proud and happy to have Martha, their Graduate Gemologist, as part of their staff.  Martha has been a Graduate Gemologist since 1983 and has been proud to be in the jewelry industry in Reno. Fifteen years of that time was spent evaluating all types of jewelry in various local jewelry businesses.

Martha and David met in the mid 80’s as competitors in a local mall. There was always a healthy competition and pride as to who had the best shop.  Now, they agree that the best shop in town is definitely theirs… Michael and Son’s Jewelers!

Owner David, has been using his gemological skills for over 30 years. He takes his position seriously because he knows that as a bench jeweler and jewelry designer, knowing the nature of gemstones is always critically important.

To keep current with educational changes and updates, Erica, David’s daughter, is now enrolled in the GIA... graduate gemologist correspondence program. This makes perfect sense knowing about their pride in excellence and that they have the responsibility of having the area’s largest jewelry repair facility.

They are also proud sponsors of the University of Nevada and the official licensee for the Nevada Wolf Pack Jewelry line designed and manufactured by David.
