In order to guarantee that he had the finest diamonds available on the international market in his store, Jimmy Smith joined up with such prestigious trade organizations as the Independent Jewelers Association and the American Gem Society. He personally would oversee trips to Antwerp and Belgium, home of the finest diamond markets, to ensure he had the best loose diamonds to offer.
He was one of the first jewelers in the Southeast to offer comprehensive expert service after the sale, including annual cleanings, inspections and appraisals, as well as working with some of the largest banks in the area to offer his customers low interest financing. In fact, his financial backing is so strong, he is one of the only jewelers to be able offer no interest for up to eighteen months.
